Aims and Scope

The International Journal of Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences (IJIMS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing medical knowledge at the intersection of modern biomedical science and traditional systems of medicine. The journal aims to:

  • Provide a rigorous, evidence-based platform for original research that bridges contemporary clinical science with AYUSH systems (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy).

  • Promote interdisciplinary dialogue among clinicians, biomedical scientists, public health researchers, medical educators, and allied health professionals.

  • Support high-quality, ethically conducted research that is methodologically sound and clinically or scientifically relevant.

  • Encourage the evaluation of traditional and integrative medicine practices using contemporary scientific standards of evidence.

  • Ensure open, unrestricted global access to published research, without financial or subscription barriers for readers.

  • Uphold international standards of publication ethics, editorial transparency, and research integrity, in line with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

Scope

IJIMS welcomes original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, case reports, short communications, and letters to the editor across the following core areas:

1. Clinical & Translational Medicine

Clinical trials, surgical research, diagnostics, therapeutics, translational and bench-to-bedside research, and clinical outcome studies across medical and surgical specialties.

2. Biomedical Sciences

Molecular biology, genetics and genomics, pharmacology and pharmacognosy, pathology, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, and other laboratory-based biomedical research.

3. Public Health & Epidemiology

Public health interventions, preventive medicine, epidemiological studies, health policy and systems research, community health, and health economics.

4. Integrative Medicine & AYUSH

Evidence-based research in Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy; comparative studies between traditional and modern therapeutic approaches; pharmacognostical and clinical studies of traditional formulations; and integrative/complementary healthcare models.

5. Medical Education & Allied Health

Innovations in medical and health professions education, curriculum development, nursing, physiotherapy, dietetics, and other allied health disciplines.

IJIMS does not discriminate based on nationality, institutional affiliation, or the traditional versus conventional origin of the medical system under study, provided the research meets accepted standards of scientific evidence and ethical conduct.
